Steph Thornton
Description
Hello! I’m Steph Thornton (she/her/hers), a proud Black and Indigenous individual with lived experience. I am grateful to have had a mother who championed the importance of therapy, allowing me to begin my healing journey at the age of five. However, trauma has continued to shape my path in many ways beyond my childhood. This journey has fueled my passion for advocacy and my commitment to improving perinatal health.
I am a trained medical assistant with five years of experience in Maternal Fetal Health, and I am also a CAPPA-trained Birth and Labor Doula. Additionally, I serve as a certified community health worker and community navigator, and I am currently pursuing my Master of Social Work (MSW). As a mother myself, I am deeply invested in supporting others through their unique experiences.
My areas of specialization include LGBTQIA+ issues, teen pregnancy, partner violence, and supporting BIPOC individuals. Though all are welcome. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey, providing support and guidance every step of the way.
